class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>O SEMISH \u00e9 o principal f\u00f3rum cient\u00edfico do Congresso da Sociedade Brasileira de Computa\u00e7\u00e3o (CSBC), em sua 50<sup>o<\/sup> edi\u00e7\u00e3o, acontecer\u00e1 em Jo\u00e3o Pessoa, PB, de 06 a 11 de agosto de 2023, juntamente com o XLIII CSBC, que este ano discute o tema \u201c<strong>Oportunidades e desafios da integra\u00e7\u00e3o dos mundos f\u00edsico e digital<\/strong>\u201d. O SEMISH50 est\u00e1 alinhado com essa tem\u00e1tica.<\/p><p>Nesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o, vamos seguir o modelo inicialmente proposto na edi\u00e7\u00e3o de 2017, que consiste de um programa composto por tr\u00eas partes: os tradicionais artigos t\u00e9cnico-cient\u00edficos (completos), selecionados por um comit\u00ea de programa; apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es de palestras convidadas em t\u00f3picos relevantes atuais, preferencialmente associado ao tema do evento; um painel celebrando a sua 50<sup>o<\/sup>\u00a0edi\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div id=\"e-n-tab-content-1773714292\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"e-n-tab-title-1773714292\" data-tab-index=\"2\" style=\"--n-tabs-title-order: 2;\" class=\" elementor-element elementor-element-ff018b6 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"ff018b6\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c12babd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c12babd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Os artigos completos ser\u00e3o selecionados a partir de submiss\u00f5es da comunidade em resposta \u00e0 chamada de trabalhos. Cada trabalho submetido ser\u00e1 avaliado por pelo menos tr\u00eas membros do comit\u00ea de programa. Os artigos completos ser\u00e3o apresentados oralmente ou na forma de posters. As apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es de artigos acontecer\u00e3o durante o CSBC 2023. Os artigos selecionados e apresentados ser\u00e3o publicados integralmente nos anais do SEMISH.<\/p><p>Artigos submetidos n\u00e3o devem ter sido publicados anteriormente e nem terem sido feitos ou estarem em processo de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o simult\u00e2nea por quaisquer outros meios de divulga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica. Inicialmente, o evento foi concebido como uma atividade do Mestrado em Computa\u00e7\u00e3o da UFRGS, e ao longo dos anos, solidificou-se como um espa\u00e7o essencial de encontro e interc\u00e2mbio de conhecimentos entre profissionais, pesquisadores e estudantes da \u00e1rea.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">A celebra\u00e7\u00e3o deste ano \u00e9 ainda mais especial, pois marca a 50\u00aa edi\u00e7\u00e3o do evento, que acontecer\u00e1 no Congresso da Sociedade Brasileira de Computa\u00e7\u00e3o (SBC). Tudo come\u00e7ou em janeiro de 1974, com a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o do primeiro semin\u00e1rio, mais tarde conhecido como I SEMISH. Na \u00e9poca, o evento ocorreu como uma atividade acad\u00eamica interna, na modesta sala 201 do pr\u00e9dio da Escola de Engenharia da UFRGS, uma singela sala de aula que abrigou o primeiro semin\u00e1rio.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">J\u00e1 no ano seguinte, em 1975, o II SEMISH ganhou abrang\u00eancia nacional e foi realizado em julho. O crescente interesse e participa\u00e7\u00e3o demandaram um espa\u00e7o maior, e o anfiteatro da Arquitetura da UFRGS foi cedido para sediar o evento. Em 1976, o III SEMISH consolidou-se definitivamente, tornando-se um evento permanente e promissor.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Foi somente na quinta edi\u00e7\u00e3o que a Sociedade Brasileira de Computa\u00e7\u00e3o (SBC) foi oficialmente criada, assumindo a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o anual do evento. We eagerly await the day when cars, buses, trucks, and railways are self-driven, and Industry 4.0 is already upon us, and of course we claim the use of AI in just about everything. All of these advances are entirely dependent on software. We ask the question: is there anything that isn\u2019t software?<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Professor Mike Hinchey is Professor of Software Engineering at University of Limerick, Ireland, where he was previously Head of Department of Computer Science and Information Systems and Director of Lero-the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software, a national research centre headquartered at University of Limerick. \u00a0 He is Past President of IFIP, the International Federation for Information Processing (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifip.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.ifip.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1688904531572000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0ljFpylswOlxuq2bGMh_mO\">www.ifip.org<\/a>) and Past Chair of the IEEE UK &amp; Ireland Section.\u00a0 \u00a0 He is Director-elect of IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and serves on IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors.\u00a0 \u00a0 Prior to joining University of Limerick, Professor Hinchey was the Director of the NASA Software Engineering Laboratory. In 2009, he was awarded NASA\u2019s Kerley Award as Innovator of the Year and is one of only 36 people recognized in the NASA Inventors Hall of Fame.\u00a0 Professor Hinchey holds a B.Sc. in Computer Systems from University of Limerick, an M.Sc. in Computation (Mathematics) from University of Oxford and a PhD in Computer Science from University of Cambridge. Assim, um dos objetivos desta palestra \u00e9 revisitar estudos da autossimilaridade nas redes de computadores ao longo destas tr\u00eas d\u00e9cadas. Contudo, a maioria dos cientistas s\u00f3 avaliou o comportamento da longa depend\u00eancia de escala apenas em uma \u00fanica rede, computando diferentes \u00edndices fractais de uma grande s\u00e9rie temporal. Desta forma, acreditava-se que esta patologia ca\u00f3tica das redes de computadores implicaria apenas no tamanho dos buffers de dispositivos de rede. No entanto, recentemente cientistas descobriram que ao avaliar diversas redes virtuais todas elas apresentavam comportamento fractal distinto ao longo do tempo; sendo assim, ao variar as ferramentas para presta\u00e7\u00e3o de servi\u00e7os nas redes observou-se que cada uma delas tinha desempenho diferente e o comportamento fractal destas poderia ser mais est\u00e1vel, ca\u00f3tico ou irregular ao empregar a dimens\u00e3o fractal e o par\u00e2metro de Hurst como vari\u00e1veis de decis\u00e3o. Destarte, foram criadas modelos est\u00e1ticos e din\u00e2micos da Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), atuando como hipervisores matem\u00e1ticos, para ranqueamento das diversas redes virtuais avaliadas, segundo a estrutura fractal do tr\u00e1fego em todas as camadas da pilha do TCP\/IP.
